I am an interaction designer, developer, and author focused on producing excellent user interfaces. I have a broad background in technology including hands on experience with mobile, web and desktop platforms, numerous languages, and proven success in development, architecture, design and management roles. Basically, I do whatever is needed to make awesome user interfaces!

I have focused primarily on user interfaces for finance, ranging from Wall Street trading applications to consumer banking. My first software commercial projects were rich desktop clients, for large investment banks including JPMorgan (pre-Chase) and Merrill Lynch as well as a few smaller startups. I am currently focusing on mobile user interfaces, though still in finance. In 2006, I joined Firethorn Mobile (later acquired by Qualcomm) to develop a cross platform consumer mobile banking product (running on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, BREW, and various CLDC/MIDP Java devices). I'm currently working on a new mobile offering for Qualcomm focused on improving the gift card and overall mobile consumer experience.

An avid percussionist and composer, I continue to perform and record music (more information on my music page). When I'm not working on technology or music, I'm likely spending time with my paleo-molecular-bio-inorganic-geo-chemical oceanographer wife Dr. Felisa Wolfe-Simon and our two lab-shepard mutts, Billie and Ella (bonus points if you can figure out the origins of their names). Otherwise, odds are I'm putting some milage on or building a bike. I may also be perfecting the perfect espresso extraction, you never know.
