I picked up my first pair of drumsticks when I was five years old and haven't looked back. After studying drumset for several years, I shifted my focus to concert percussion and attended several arts magnet programs in Miami, Florida. I studied with Keith Aleo while attending high school at the New World School Of the Arts, as well as the Interlochen Center for the Arts for summer camp in Michigan. During my junior year of high school, I was early admitted to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music to study under Michael Rosen. I began attending Oberlin imediately after my junior year while continuing to finish my high school requirements, graduating from New World after my freshman year at Oberlin. A budding techie, I began studying electronic music and soon declared a double major in TIMARA, Oberlin's new media and music technology program. I became fascinated by the technology behind the electronic music I was making, and studied one-on-one with Dr. Stephen Wong then at the Oberlin Computer Science department to develop my own music software. Working with Dr. Wong, I developed software to perform Steve Reich style phasing, realizations of music games in the style of Mozert's Dice Game, and an advanced software metronome growing out of my percussion studies.
On this page, you'll find recordings of concert percussion pieces I've performed as well as electronic pieces I've composed or realized. Lately, I've been getting back to my musical roots and playing alot more drumset. Drop me a line if you want to make some music!
