P2P Trading System
Ballista wanted to provide their users with an easy way to passively watch a large number of trades in their system. They also wanted to ensure very fast switching from passive monitoring to active trading. I found great inspiration in desktop widget systems like Yahoo! Widgets, and Mac Dashboard. I designed an entire trading system for Ballista by combining widgets allowing traders to monitor numerous incoming trades and pick the level of detail and interaction capabilities by selecting the desired widget.
The following is the full desktop interface. Notice the trades listed on the left with minimal detail. Dragging trades to the dock on the right allows trades to monitor in more detail.
Next is the minimal desktop interface. The window from the above screenshot can be minimized to only show the new trades. Instead of dragging to the dock, you can also drag to the desktop. The combination of these two designs allows traders to focus on a number of active trades at once, or work more passively on a few trades.
