Mobile Banking

One of my major initial contributions at Firethorn was the complete development of a mobile custom user interface framework from the ground up. In under three months, I developed this framework based only on low level canvas painting, implementing custom font rendering, UI widgets, layout managers, scroll management, and more. I worked hard to optimize the memory footprint of the framework due to extremely limited resources on the target devices. The final framework added only 20k to the final application! The following are a series of screenshots taken in early 2007 showing the application before this framework and after.
Much of the work I do is tending to the details and ensuring a polished and produced visual interface. The following shows a closeup of the custom scrollbar developed for the framework. Note the careful pixel and color placement to give a three dimensional look without resorting to costly images.
